organised housewife

So I stumbled onto a fantastic site/facebook page/blog called The Organised Housewife.

It's a site that gives you cleaning tips/an outline of chores you could do each day/meal plans and routines. I personally have always loved the thought of being organised but never really found the time to make it so -- especially with having kids (It can all turn back into a mess in a second).

But I love this page - I have only really started looking through it as there is so much in it. And no I don't need someone to tell me what to clean and do each day but It's great to see what everyone else is up to. Well today I decided to tackle my linen closet which was in desperate need of a tidy. It's a massive closet - the house we were previously in, the linen closet was 1/4 of the size of this one. My linen closet was filled with sheets upon sheets (my mum gave me lots of my sheets and my brother's sheets from when we were little as soon as I had kids for me to use), lots of towels - both beach and bath, games, xrays (?) a printer, blankets, doona's, boxes of fabric ETC. So I decided to do a massive clean and throw out and the end result is fantastic! Here is the before picture.

Luckily today, my number 3 baby - Ella had a great day and decided to sleep alot so I had time to do this. I threw out any sheets that had lost elastic or had holes etc - same with towels and blankets that we weren't ever going to use. I placed all the sheets in piles for each child (as they are all in different size beds at the moment) -I also labelled them too. A pile for single sheets and sheets for our bed and for pillow cases. I placed each set of sheets into the corresponding pillowcase to keep them together. A pile for towels and towels for guests along with kid's bath towels and beach towels. The bottom shelf I made a spot for the kids games (so they can get to them themselves). I still have some more room left over which is great as I probably have other things that can go in there instead of the draws in the kitchen. Oh how fun! Here is the after shot:

I threw out FOUR massive garbage bags filled with towels and sheets. Oh this feels good. Anyway baby is crying again.. the joys of a mummy :) I encourage you to clean out your linen cupboard this week!

more love.

Wow it's been nearly a whole year since my last post. So what has been happening? A lot! But most importantly number 3 baby has arrived. Her name is Ella Juliet. Born Feb 10, weighing 6lbs 13 oz and 54 cms long. She's precious - minus always being awake during the day. (although she's been good today so I guess that outweighs the bad times). So what do I do with 3 kids? Hear my name a lot, mummy, mummy, mummy (ah!), clean constantly, prepare food all the time (dont you love it when kids say they want something and then change their mind) and playing with my gorgeous kids. Well here are some photos of my loves (gotta go.. baby is crying!)

alice in wonderland

Well ever since the new Alice in Wonderland movie came out - everyone's being going alice crazy.
My friend's daughter is having an Alice in Wonderland party in a couple of weeks which is really exciting. (Wish I had one when I was younger) So I thought I would dedicate this blog to Alice In Wonderland.

My friend, Karen asked me to make an apron for her and myself to wear while we 'serve' the girls at the party.(thanks karen for believing in me to be able to make one) Here is a sneak peak...

I will do a blog later on with what we ended up doing for food etc. They've sent out some fun invites and we have some yummy food organised. Well that was a short blog, and I was hoping to do more but I'm tired so I will leave you all to your fabulous monday! Enjoy the gorgeous photos below of an Alice in Wonderland party in LA. Link to the blog is here.

oh boy

hello hello
I decided I'd do a quick blog while my two munchkins are sleeping. I have a busy day at home - putting together some orders. They are looking extra cute at the moment. I am doing orders for two girls. Matching 'bow' and 'angel wing' tops .. can't wait to finish them and send them off to their new owners. I made my first two sales through my madeit account yesterday which is very exciting!

I saw in the latest spotlight mag some sewing machines for sale (and on sale). I'm starting to try and lose weight aswell so my husband has put two and two together and has said if I run/walk 30min-hr every day this week then he'll get me a sewing machine for mother's day. YAY

... only thing is, I think I'll die from running/walking and therefore, not get to use my new toy LOL

Never the less - great incentive to get fit and lose this weight.. PLUS I've now told the world so you all are going to be watching me now. :) I'll have to keep you posted on my adventure.

I got some fabrics delived today from bubbamia. Not TOO sure what I'll do with them - thinking pockets and stars on some jeans designed for boys.. and some shirts.

Will post some piccies soon of the jeans I made for my little boy.

Hope you all have a fab week

lil' snaps

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've blogged. Don't the weeks just fly by? I can't believe it's nearly May already! I am reminded constantly because my husband's birthday is in May {still thinking of ideas for present&cake} I had fun yesterday babysitting a friends little girl - she is only 2 days older than my little girl... she has the longest eyelashes! Her parents are mad manchester utd fans and they have got her pumping her arms in the air saying 'ted' 'ted' when they point to a man utd crest. VERY cute -

So on another topic - I have decided to add lil' snaps to my Ninja Cupcake Collection.
I've been approached by people to do shoots for them - so I thought why not?!
Here's some lil' snaps from my latest shoot,

enjoy everyone - will do another post this week, I'm going to make my little boy some jeans on wednesday so I'll keep you all posted on how that goes
